Opening ceremony of Indian-Russian joint exercise Indra – 2015 took place at Mahajan range

Official opening ceremony of the Indian Russian joint counter-terrorist exercise Indra – 2015 took place at the Mahajan range. Approximately 250 servicemen of the Southern MD motorized rifle formation located in Volgograd region.

The ceremony started with raising national flags and singing national hymns of Russia and India.

Servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces arrived in India aboard two Il-76 military transports.

In the course of 10 days, the servicemen will be practicing providing security of important state facilities, escorting hardware columns, and liquidating illegal armed groups.

The Indra – 2015 exercise is held according to the international cooperation plan and will last until November 18.
