ISLAMABAD, Nov. 13 (ChinaMil) — Gen. Fan Changlong, vice chairman of China’s Central Military Commission (CMC), met and held talks respectively with Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Rashad Mahmood, and Chief of Air Staff Marshal Sohail Aman of the Pakistani Armed Forces (PAF), in Pakistan on November 12, 2015.
Fan Changlong expressed that during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s successful visit to Pakistan in April this year, the leaders of the two countries have reached a series of important consensuses on consolidating China-Pakistan traditional friendship, deepening pragmatic cooperation and building strategic framework for future cooperation, which upgraded China-Pakistan relations to the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership, pointed out the direction for building the China-Pakistan Community of Shared Destiny, and provided a powerful driving force for further developing the friendly relations between China and Pakistan.
The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) is willing to work with the PAF to positively implement the important consensuses reached by the leaders of the two countries and constantly deepen the friendly exchanges and pragmatic cooperation between the two militaries in various fields, so as to make its contributions to constructing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and deepening the China-Pakistan all-weather friendship, Chang Wanquan added.
The leaders of the PAF expressed that Chinese President Xi Jinping’s historical visit to Pakistan has pushed forward the Pakistan-China relations to enter a new historical period, and the Pakistan-China friendly cooperation has been getting more matured.
The Pakistani side cherishes the all-weather friendship built by Pakistan and China for a long time and thanks the Chinese side for the strong support and assistance to the Pakistani side, noted the leaders of the PAF.
The construction of the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor will benefit all Pakistani people, in which the PAF is willing to play its role, said the leaders of the PAF.
In the future, the PAF is willing to further strengthen the pragmatic exchange and cooperation with the Chinese PLA in various fields so as to push forward the relations between the two countries and the two militaries to constantly achieve new progresses, added the leaders of the PAF.
General Fan Changlong is also scheduled to meet with Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah, Chief of Naval Staff of the PAF, on November 13.
Personnel including Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong, Deputy Chief of General Staff of the PLA Sun Jianguo, and Political Commissar of the PLA Chengdu Military Area Command (MAC) Zhu Fuxi, attended the above activities.
