Secretary of Defense Ash Carter hosts an enhanced honor cordon welcoming the United Kingdom’s Secretary of State for Defence Michael Fallon to the Pentagon at 2:30 p.m. EST at the Pentagon River Entrance. Following a bilateral meeting they will conduct a joint press conference in the Pentagon Briefing Room (2E973) at 3:15 p.m. EST. Journalists without a Pentagon building pass covering the enhanced honor cordon will be escorted from the base of the River Entrance Pedestrian Bridge only after security screening. Security screening will begin at approximately 1:45 p.m. EST; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification. All journalists wishing to cover the honor cordon, including those with a Pentagon building badge, must be in place no later than 2:15 p.m. EST. Please call 703-697-5131 with any questions. Dunford Jr. conducts a change of responsibility ceremony between Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Marine Sgt. Maj. Bryan Battaglia and Army Cmd. Sgt. Maj. John Troxell at 2 p.m. EST at Conmy Hall, Fort Myer, Virginia. The ceremony will include a retirement ceremony honoring Sgt. Maj. Battaglia’s years of service.
