The Global Forum on Cyber Expertise (GFCE) is a global platform for countries, international organizations and private companies to exchange best practices and expertise on cyber capacity building. The aim is to identify successful policies, practices and ideas and multiply these on a global level. Together with partners from NGOs, the tech community and academia GFCE members develop practical initiatives to build cyber capacity.
Vision and ambition
Free, open and secure. Under these conditions cyberspace has thrived and continues to offer extra-ordinary opportunities for innovation, communication, sustainable developments and economic growth. The GFCE promotes cyber capacity building in a vision where the interests for security, economy and human rights go hand in hand.
Cyber capacity for all
Societies worldwide have a growing demand for cyber capacity in order to reap the full economic and social benefits of cyber technology. Everyone should be able to profit from the potential an open, free and secure internet has to offer. This is in the interest of all: societies with underdeveloped cyber capacity form the weakest link in efforts to counter cyber threats and to fight cybercrime. To answer to this growing demand for cyber capacity the GFCE has been established.
A global platform
The ambition of the GFCE is to become the global platform where public and private companies exchange expertise and best practices on cyber capacity building. Such international cooperation currently takes mostly place via bilateral relations or in regional setting. The GFCE provides countries and organizations with a platform to effectively cooperate on a global level.
The GFCE offers a pragmatic, action oriented and flexbile forum. Members and partners develop practical initiatives to take advantage of opportunities in cyberspace and to overcome evolving challenges in the field. With a practical approach, a global reach and public-private collaboration the GFCE is uniquely positioned to help build the most important infrastructure of the 21th century and to make sure it remains open, free and secure.
