Together with Estonian Prime Minister Jüri Ratas, Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg visited NATO’s UK-led battlegroup in Tapa on Wednesday (6 September 2017). Addressing troops, the Secretary General called the multinational force “a very strong signal of NATO unity, NATO resolve and NATO strength”. Mr. Stoltenberg also commended Estonia for its operational contributions to the Alliance, and for “leading by example” by spending more than 2% of its GDP on defence.
