Humanitarian mission of the Romanian Air Force
A Romanian Air Force C-27J Spartan aircraft, configured for medical missions, carries out a humanitarian mission on the Otopeni – Iasi – Otopeni route on the Otopeni – Iasi – Otopeni route on the Otopeni – Iasi- Otopeni route to transport, as a matter of urgency, a patient who suffered burns as a result of the fire at Piatra Neamț County Hospital.
The mission is carried out following the approval of the Minister of National Defence, Nicolae-Ionel Ciucă, at the request of the Secretary of State and Head of the Department of Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Raed Arafat.
The medical team consists of specialists from the Ministry of National Defence and SMURD Bucharest.
The aircraft took off from Air Transport Base 90 on Saturday evening at 11.15pm.

Injured doctor at Piatra Neamț, transported to Belgium
The doctor at Piatra Neamț County Hospital injured in the fire that broke out at the health unit yesterday, which resulted in suffering severe burns, is transferred on Sunday, November 15, to the Military Hospital “Queen Astrid” in Brussels, for specialized treatment.
The patient’s transfer is carried out with a C-27J Spartan aircraft of the Romanian Air Force, under special conditions, with specialized medical assistance provided, throughout the transport, by a team from the Ministry of National Defence and SMURD Bucharest.
The aircraft took off from Air Transport Base 90 at 7.30am on Sunday morning.
The patient will be taken over by Belgian military doctors, who will determine, after the completion of the medical evaluation procedures, the therapeutic conduct and medical support.
