#NATO Review: Countering complex terrorist attacks

Based on lessons learned from actual events, a specialised course at the Ordnance School of the Irish Defence Forces seeks to prepare security forces and first responders to deal with complex terrorist attacks. ‘To make sense of the loss of so many lives, every effort must be made to learn from such attacks so that others may learn and survive,’ explains Captain Alan Kearney of the Irish Defence Forces. 

 

The frequency of complex terrorist attacks involving multiple actors is on the rise. It is essential to prepare commanders to respond effectively under the complex conditions of such attacks. With NATO support, a specialised course at the Ordnance School of the Irish Defence Forces sets out to do just that.
