HOW to MANAGE PANDEMIC DATA- Ask “GLOBAL MEDICAL SOLUTIONS (GMS)”

Why do we want to empower WHO to be our Global Healthcare SAT-NAV?
Envision a world in which the SAT-NAV has not been invented. You receive no notice of traffic jams or warnings of nearing hazards. Terrifying, isn’t it? Being denied the miraculous invention that makes our journeys so quick and, most importantly, safe. But how could that be improved? Although the SAT-NAV can divert our journey to avoid congestion, it cannot yet warn us of a speeding vehicle, driving in the wrong lane, headed towards you. To be informed of this high risk, before you and this vehicle meet, could save many lives. Now imagine that the World Health Organisation (WHO) – essentially our healthcare SAT NAV – could provide us with vital real-time information.
The potential to save the public from life-threatening incidents is the difference that real-time information systems can offer and it is why a global organization, which works relentlessly to protect our health, like the WHO, should be using an SAT-NAV-like tool.
The world has been faced with COVID-19 pandemic, for which it was unprepared. Since the unexpected arrival of COVID-19, each country has been posed with difficult questions and forced to make unpleasant decisions without global accurate information at hand. While certain countries have closed their borders, placed their economy on lockdown, and allowed only essential travel, others have implemented more lenient restrictions, and some have allowed life to continue as normal. As a result of the lack of uniformity in responses to the virus, the tragic pandemic has impacted countries to varying degrees. This is not a battle between two countries but a war between a virus and humanity. We are one world, one race, one society against the COVID-19 Virus – a global society.
Israel, for instance, made the decision at an early stage to close the borders, lockdown schools, shopping malls, and public places where gatherings of many people may cause a surge in COVID-19 cases. In addition, social distancing, close medical supervision. and using cellular tracking of potential COVID-19 infected people have been enforced to limit further spread. In doing so, Israel succeeded to prevent the pandemic from erupting and has registered one of the lowest deaths per million in the world. Many countries followed suit and, by doing so, have managed to reduce their death rate as well as reduce the spread of infection
“We, at Global Medical Solution (GMS) , started to engage with two countries to promote the idea of a global solution and to attempt to leverage local governments to promote the global idea with WHO. We believe that if we succeed in creating the initial momentum, hopefully, other countries will follow suit”, says David
As displayed by the world’s reaction to the pandemic, it is evidently crucial that a well-defined system, which gathers and manages data collected globally, be used. The increased accuracy of data analysis and treatments will strengthen our approach to future pandemics and endeavour to prevent a crisis. Each country and healthcare organization individually collect and stores their own data, whether manually, automatically, or in some ad-hoc way. However, by segregating from each other, these organizations will produce less accurate results due to the limited data to which they have access.
“To improve the management of the COVID-19 pandemic and future ones, GMS has developed a centralized platform for Pandemic Information Management (PIM). It enables all healthcare organizations in each country to input data at the point of treatment. Doing so, the country will get accurate data in real-time, from all checkpoints/labs/hospitals across the country. The PIM solution will remove the need to send batch files that can raise human errors and delays. For the WHO, the relevant information will be automatically consolidated in real-time from all the countries given the WHO accurate and up to date information. By accumulating and sharing demographics, testing processing and results, treatments, the number, and rates of recovery/death, virus research information, and potential vaccination development, we believe this could revolutionize the medical industry. Increasing the wealth of knowledge, understanding of global health concerns and the collective work of participating countries would massively decrease the amount of work and money necessary to develop a successful antidote, however, the number of lives we could save would be extraordinary”! says David
No one was prepared for such a pandemic and the extent of the resulting ripple effects it has caused could not have been predicted. However, the only thing we can control is how we learn from our past unprepared selves and improve. Henceforth, though the world was not prepared for such a pandemic, it does not mean it is too late to learn and grow from all that has already happened. To tackle this more effectively, and before more lives are taken, we must unite globally and work in a more communal, regulated method.
Global Medical Solution – GMS – is a new start-up, dealing with global solutions in the digital health sector and we set ourselves a goal to change the state of mind in the way healthcare providers and departments of health are managing the public and their employee’s medical information. PIM was built on an existing product, vaccine management solution (VMS) for the Healthcare Workers (HCW), and for the Clients of the Health Care Providers (HCP). The VMS will allow vaccination clinics to manage the vaccination effectively while improving HCW and patient safety.
