A ferry carrying 251 passengers has capsized during stormy weather near Dinahican Point, off the east coast of the Philippines, according to the national coast guard.
The spokesman, Armand Balilo, said they could not immediately verify the total number of dead and injured. However, Philippine media reported that 140 people have been rescued.
The incident occurred in the waters between Quezon province’s Dinahican Point and Polillo Island.
